The suggestion was brought up at Parliament yesterday that we get an idea of what resources we have, public and private. It would be very helpful if folks message me with notation of what they have for group use: I.E. Smeg and I have a cooler, camp stove, folding camp table and a 10 by 10 pavilion available for the benefit of the Glen.

Possessions that are specifically for group use will also be inventoried: I.E. The chair and table donated by Lady Der which are currently in protection of Barb and Brian.

Everyone's help is appreciated.

Hey, Kids -

I've been working on the website. I think mostly everyone has at least rudimentary character stories, except for those that never played with us long enough to acquire backstory. If I didn't have something for you, I made something up, with the exception of Angel - I sent her a message, and am giving her a few days to come up with something before I make it up for her.

Also, and this is the fun part, I added a section to the "Resources" area, with the highlights of our ancient Yahoo group. Who's ready to re-live some long-dead drama?

In theory, I'd like to start updating the site monthly. With, like, new content. To keep it fresh and interesting. Thoughts?

Cheers,
Edmund Rex

I was catching up on my Two Lumps: The Adventures of Ebenezer and Snooch, and found this Comic, which I am surprised Poppy didn't post about first:

Which of course amused me greatly and I felt that it should be shared here.
location: Home
mood: awakeawake
music: None at the moment.

I updated paisleyglen.com with pictures from the unfair picnic at Owen Beach last year, and the first weekend this year.

Accessible by clicking "2008" or "2009" from here http://paisleyglen.com/resources.html

U have pics? Send them to me!

Also might be there again next weekend!

Paisley Space Program update

I have come up with an idea for the name of the Paisley Space Program's first space craft, I will accept alternate suggestions and entertain them as possible options if they are as worthy or more worthy than the name I have come up with.

Epemetheus.

Epemetheus is the brother of Prometheus, and is associated with afterthought.

As the entire Paisley space program was an afterthought, and as the design of the ship's engines and power should have been developed long ago, I feel Epemetheus is very appropriate for a ship's name.

Thoughts?

Afterthoughts?

So, who's interested in a wine tasting? The Wine Tasting for Mother's Day was great. We can have up to 25 people in one party, although smaller seems like it's work best, I'd need about $15 to $20 a person to cover the cost of the Wine Tasting and food. Food has to be bought separately. The selection of snacks we got for today worked well; Turkey & Swiss rolls, cheese tray, croissants, french bread baguette and veggie tray. For a large party I'd want to bring plenty of bottled water or else they poor bartender will spend all his time getting water. Anyway. Lemme know what people think. They are moving soon, so it'd be a little while before we can do one anyway.

Paislians, Allies, and Associates: Bukkake!

We must appologize in advance that you will likely see this message scrawled across every forum We have access to. You may even receive it more than once in your inbox. Sorry.

As required by law, when We wish to hold Parliament, we must let as many Paislians as possible know one month in advance. So: We wish to hold Parliament the weekend of May 2nd-3rd, which is of course also the weekend of Empire Day, Our birthday. We were thinking that Saturday, 2nd May, would kick off with an informal breakfast cocktail reception, sober up towards mid afternoon when we would hold the official Parliament (I really don't expect much business this year: Only silly pedagogery!), followed, of course, by the traditional campfire-pavillion-boozeup, open to anybody who'll come (strictly by invitation).

R.S.V.P., if you wish, or you could wait for more details. Also any comments, questions, or concerns are most certainly welcome! Further, if you *do* have any serious business you want brought up at Parliament, do let me know first, please, so that I can draw up an itinerary.

Cheers,

Edmund Rex

For various reasons relating to there not being enough info on a lot of people's characters, I find it necessary to write a second tale of Paisley Glen - a sequel detailing our continuing adventures. I take upon myself the burden of writing it, and will present it here for peer-editing, to make sure it's sufficiently amusing.

HOWEVER:

Any references you'd like made, or that you think represent Paisley - (examples from the original include Mr. Turnpike and Old Man Muffin, or Captain Morgan, the pirate from Penzance who sails the Lollipop) would be very helpful. I'm sailing in the dark here, really.

The Paisleyglen website is in the midst of being massively updated and reconstructed. In particular, the "Characters" page is getting massive additions - eventually, everyone will have have a separate page with photos and information about them, as well as references to them in Paislian Literature! I'm about halfway through with that, at the moment. Go check it out! To access your particular page, simply click on your name on the Characters page. If I haven't gotten to you yet, tough. It takes an insane ammount of time to go through the Paislian archives and find references to each person, and to come up with crap if there isn't enough.

If I haven't gotten to you yet and you'd like to send me photos or storyline to include on your page, please do so! Contributions are always welcome. If I have gotten to you, and you don't like something about your page, possibly including the fact that I've stolen photos from your myspace or facebook or something, or if you'd like to add or change something, let me know! I'm kinda pulling this out of my butt, at the moment.

Just remember, it's all a work in progress, and you can help make things easier.

Also coming soon is a "Friend of the Glen" page, where persons who aren't actually members of the Glen, but who have been influential in its existence will be. There was some other stuff, but I'm tired of the internet now, so hooray.
